It is so weird for me when I'm reading|watching something, and liking it a lot, and then the story approaches the end and it's suddenly badbadwrong. Reading Lord of the Rings for the first time I managed to fall in love with Glorfindel (and through him, with Elves in general), though he appears for all of three pages, perhaps.
